Palazzo della Marra is the outcome of a lengthy restoration project. In 2005 the Palazzo Della Marra Faggianni was donated to the city by the artist’s wife, Leontine Gruvelle and now functions as a museum and the site of the De Nittis collection.  The palazzo has undergone many modifications throughout time and has lost its original design in the process, yet it still stands as an important example of civic architecture of the 17th century. The building has elaborate decorative features from the Baroque period. It has three levels, the ground floor and upper floors, and the facade has a monumental portal above which there is a decorated balcony. One of its outstanding features is the barrel vault ceiling of the atrium with allegorical figures. The upper floors have very large rooms.
