ATTRACTIONS
This town casts no shadows over Castel del Monte, under the aegis of Puglia Imperiale and part of Unesco’s World Heritage List, but rather is sheds a new light: the scene for the election of Frederick II, Andria preserves the remains of two of Frederick’s many wives in the Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta. A short stroll from the Ducal Palace (XVI Century) will find you in the vicinity of the church and convent of S. Francesco (XIII Century) and S. Domenico (XIV Century). An extraordinary characteristic is the church of St. Augustine, built in 200 by Knight Teutonici, and the Laura Brasiliana of the Sacred Heart and the area of Porta Sant’Andrea are very interesting.
